I was referred to Berry Law by a family member who is also a veteran and who, like me, had trouble navigating the complexity that is the VA system when it comes to getting your disability rating and compensation claims processed. Just researching where and how to start the process on your own is enough to discourage any veteran from seeking the VA's help. Deb Hansel from Berry Law removed all barriers, hurdles, and confusion. With her help and that of Berry Law, the process went from a daunting task to the easiest and most confident decision I've made in a long time. What would have taken me several months, possibly years to accomplish on my own. Deb and Berry Law offices helped complete in a few short months with amazing and satisfying results.
I just wanna thank Berry Law firm. Especially Sean Shepherd and his assistant Morgan Hansen. For answering all my questions and calls. I appreciate all of your hard work and professionalism. Thank you for taking care of me. Merry Christmas, and have a happy and blessed new Year. I Tha

Berry Law, a true Veterans Disability Law Firm, to say the least, they're great! Justin Reavis is my case manager and his team is excellent at helping veterans like myself, just this year alone, I was at 40% in May when I gave my case to them, and as of last month (November 2024) I'm now at 93% pushing for that hundred P and T. I'm on the way, this makes a huge difference in my family life. I have referred them numerous times and will continue to do so.
Jason was very helpful in filing my VA claim. He and his staff put in a lot of hours to help me and they helped me win my case. He kept in contact with me the entire process and was very responsive with emails and phone calls. Thank You Jason and team.

Working with Mr. Shepherd and his team was easy for me. When his team first reached out to speaking with him myself, they were all kind and very well spoken. They had the answers to my questions immediately and explained everything in a detailed way that made sense. When Mr. Shepherd reached out to get my situation he spoke with truth and purpose. He knew the questions to ask, and the answers to give. I felt like there was zero time wasted to get the information needed to get to work on my case. Even with me being across the country, they stayed in contact throughout and when I had questions Mr. Shepherd or his team answered within a few days. Their combined knowledge and expertise led to the Berry Law firm winning my case and I'm so grateful they fought for me.
I had been struggling for years trying to get properly rated for my Service-Connected Disabilities. I came across an Ad online and contacted Berry Law. My Case Management Team, Matthew Bartling and McKenna Sender were very helpful and helped me reach my goal of 100% Permanent & Total

I was frustrated at the walls the V.A. Put up to try and keep my claims from going through. Reached out to Berry Law, based on the recommendation of fellow veterans, and they navigated those waters for me. I was taken seriously by them and they represented me with the utmost professionalism and respect. I couldn’t ask for a better experience.
Rachel was so easy to work with and she walked me thru the whole process and made sure I understood everything! She won our case for us even with resistance from the opposing counsel. She was very compassionate and I believe she truly cared which I can't say for lots of lawyers. I highly recommend Rachel to anyone who needs a highly experienced lawyer who will get the job done!! Rachel, I can't thank you enough for all you did for my son and I!!
I started my compensation claims with the VA in late 2012. I struggled for years (about 10-12) with the VA on my own and had reached a point of acceptance on where I was, I could just live with the conditions I have and get by. My oldest stepson was in the same boat, and he was the one that discovered Berry Law, and they helped him win his battle with the VA and were able to get him to a 100% disability rating. My stepson encouraged me to contact Berry Law and see if they could help me. I contacted Berry Law in Omaha NE, and within hours of submitting an inquiry I was contacted and sent some documents to fill out. Within a day or two Matthew Bartling contacted me with a proposal that laid out the “marathon” course we were about to depart on. I still remember Matthew telling me this was going to be a marathon and not a sprint. Every step of the way, Matthew kept me informed of what to expect and his calm, confident demeanor was comforting to hear when the first round of submission
Martindale-Hubbell® Client Review Ratings™ display reviews submitted by individuals who have either hired or consulted the lawyers or law firms.
The Client Review Rating score is determined through the aggregation of validated responses. People who submit reviews are either individuals who consulted with the lawyer/law firm or who hired the lawyer/law firm and want to share their experience of that lawyer or law firm with other potential clients. Reviewers can be anyone who consults or hires a lawyer including in-house counsel, corporate executives, small business owners, and private individuals.
Martindale-Hubbell validates that a reviewer is a person with a valid email address. As part of the review process, respondents must affirm that they have had an initial consultation, are currently a client or have been a client of the lawyer or law firm identified, although Martindale-Hubbell cannot confirm the lawyer/client relationship as it is often confidential. The content of the responses is entirely from reviewers.
Prior results do not guarantee a similar outcome and Martindale-Hubbell accepts no responsibility for the content or accuracy of any review. For more information on Martindale-Hubbell Client Review Ratings, please visit our Client Review Page
Martindale Peer Reviews
Martindale-Hubbell® Peer Review Ratings™ are the gold standard in attorney ratings, and have been for more than a century. These ratings indicate attorneys who are widely respected by their peers for their ethical standards and legal expertise in a specific area of practice.
The Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings process is the gold standard due to its objectivity and comprehensiveness. Lawyers solicited for peer reviews include both those selected by the attorney being reviewed and lawyers independently selected by Martindale-Hubbell. All reviewers are verified as attorneys through Martindale-Hubbell’s extensive attorney database. Only attorneys practicing at least three years and receiving a sufficient number of reviews from non-affiliated attorneys are eligible to receive a Rating.
What are the different Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings?*
• AV Preeminent®: The highest peer rating standard. This rating signifies that a large number of the lawyer’s peers rank him or her at the highest level of professional excellence for their legal knowledge, communication skills and ethical standards.
• Distinguished: An excellent rating for a lawyer with some experience. This rating indicates the attorney is widely respected by their peers for high professional achievement and ethical standards.
• Notable: This rating indicates that the lawyer has been recognized by a large number of their peers for strong ethical standards.
Lawyers who have received peer reviews after 2009 will display more detailed information, including practice areas, summary ratings, detailed numeric ratings and written feedback (if available). Details for individual reviews received before 2009 are not displayed.
Attorneys that receive reviews from their peers, but not a sufficient number to establish a Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Rating, will have those reviews display on our websites.
Ratings and reviews are feedback from people who have either consulted an attorney about an issue (but may not have hired the attorney) or people who hired an attorney as a current or former client and provided their feedback to our sister site, Avvo.com.
