A History of Excellence

In 1986, after a tenure together in another local firm, Paul E. Rice, Jr. and James L. Rose, 1983 and 1982 graduates of the University of Florida College of Law, respectively, formed the Rice & Rose Law Firm. Philip J. Bonamo earned partnership on January 1, 2009, after four solid years as an associate with the firm. In 2016, James Rose retired after a 30 year successful partnership with Paul Rice. Matthew Shapiro became a partner in November of 2018.

A new era in the firm history occurred

In 2001 the Rice Law Firm took occupancy of its 10,500 square foot office building. The firm purchased an older building on the beachside in Daytona Beach, razed it and constructed a purpose-built state of the art law office. The building has attractive space for up to eight attorneys and provides the platform and resources required to deliver high quality legal services.

Hired Attorney Philip Bonamo

Mr Bonamo is a commensurate professional that is compassionate and supportive of his clients. I had several legal matters that needed attention and he handled each one professionally and effectively, while keeping my desired goals in focus. Mr Bonamo assisted me with cases ranging from family, criminal to civil actions and civil injunctions. It was an extreme privilege to have Mr. Rice handle my legal services. He expertly guided me through and negotiated my dissolution of marriage addendum. Mr Bonamo was exceptional. I appreciated the professional and outstanding service he and his staff provided. I was confident that he was fighting for me and my children and always felt he had our best interests at heart. All the anxiety I had going into this divorce was greatly reduced as he did above and beyond what I had heard about divorce lawyers. I never had a single complaint and felt that I had a friend on my side at all times. You wont find a better Lawyer anywhere!
