About Ian Richard Leavengood

Ian is a native Floridian, born and raised in St. Petersburg. After receiving his Bachelor of Science and Masters degrees in Accounting from the University of Florida, Ian worked as an internal business consultant for The Procter & Gamble Distributing Company. Ian returned to the University of Florida, entering the Levin College of Law in the Fall of 1997. During his second stint at UF, Ian served as a Judicial Extern for the Honorable Justice Ben F. Overton of the Supreme Court of the State of Florida. After receiving his Juris Doctor in the Spring of 2000, Ian went to Manhattan where he joined Deloitte' s Special Acquisition Services, a team that exclusively serviced all merger and acquisition activity for the leveraged buyout firm Kohlberg, Kravis & Roberts. Ian returned to St. Petersburg in the Summer of 2003 to join and help expand the firm you see today.

Honest, Knowledgable and Accurate. I am very pleased with the assistance I received in my litigation case. Mr. Leavengood actually advised not to pursue it because of business and cost reasons (I never thought I would have a lawyer advise against collecting fees:)). Even though I still proceeded the case reached a point that he had warned me about earlier in the process and I ended up settling. I appreciated his honest feedback and would definitely use his firm again for any future legal needs.

I was being harassed by a cell phone carrier about an early termination provision that was not correct. Mr. Leavengood sued them, got me cash in hand and stopped the collection efforts.

Hired Attorney

When you file for bankruptcy you have to pay for and take a counseling class. Within 6 months your papers are void as the bankruptcy should have been done. They made me take the class and pay again because they did not get my bankruptcy started in time. I feel they should have paid the money since it was their fault I had to pay again, not mine.
