Paul David Stanko

Paul Stanko is the best lawyer I have dealt with, and I'm sorry to say that I have dealt with several in recent years. By the time I found him, I had a horrible driving record, and there was little he could change about that, but he DID persuade both the prosecutor and the judge to treat me as leniently as was possible under the law. He referred me to counseling immediately; he was very kind and supportive when I was so depressed and down-hearted. In the end, he saved my job.

I have an OH driver license but was arrested for DUI in IN. He was careful to explain that he is only licensed in IN and couldn't advise me on OH law, but also mentioned that I may be able to get credit for an IN suspension against any suspension OH ordered. In the end, my license was NEVER suspended, he got me into the ignition interlock program and my case was dropped to reckless driving. I was impressed with his knowledge of the law, his willingness to explain procedures and dedication

Mr. Stanko took my felony drunk driving case in St. Joseph County and was able to get me a reduced charge to a misdemeanor. Talking to other people who have had cases there, I heard that getting a misdemeanor at sentencing doesn't happen very often. the prosecutor wanted me to have a felony conviction, but that would have made finding a job tough. Mr. Stanko asked the judge to give me a misdemeanor and sure enough that's what happened! He treated me with respect and kindness all the way.

Judge Stanko was incredibly understanding and supportive in helping me through the most stressful time of my life. His experience and ability are obvious, and the respect he is shown by the court, the prosecutor and the other attorneys is very reassuring to a nervous client like me! Not only did he get me an outstanding result, but he really made me feel much better about myself. I could see him as a motivational speaker if he weren't a lawyer.

After never being in trouble in my life, I contacted Mr. Stanko to help with a pending DUI. I had blown double the legal limit and was in fear of a conviction that could affect my current job and future employment. Paul took the time to explain the process and was able to get the case plead to Reckless Driving with other stipulations. The outcome was favorable to me and I appreciate the work that he completed on my case.

Mr. Stanko did not even communicate with my fiance while in jail. He was even court ordered twice to appear to my fiance and still never made an appearance. He refuse to do his job as a lawyer and I would never recommend him to anyone for anything. If you want a lawyer that does not communicate then he will be the perfect lawyer for you.

My wife hired Paul and paid him $1,500 when I was arrested and charged with public intox and resisting arrest. While I was in jail (St Joe County Jail borders on inhumane treatment, by the way) waiting to go before the judge Paul dealt with my wife and spoke to her a couple of times.
