I was involved in a controversial separation/divorce. Although I tried to work with my ex toward an amenable resolution and treatment for his addiction issues, my ex's family and the opposing lawyer made that difficult as they proceeded to file multiple fraudulent claims against me. Mr. Daugherty stepped in several times to assist - even going out of his way to inform me of legal proceedings he found out about that were purposely filed by the opposing parties behind my back. Although the opposing parties were highly unethical and attempted to circumvent or delay any proceedings they knew they would be unsuccessful in, Mr. Daugherty was straightforward and honest with me in options to deal with such. Unfortunately, my ex lost his addiction battle and passed away and I continue to fight his family to get the compensation that is owed me and my children; however, Mr. Daugherty's assistance in making sure I safely got out of an abusive situation was worth the cost.

Working with Michael was, at times, challenging given his case load and his responsiveness. But, given this was a family court matter, tensions were high with our family and probably we were overly needy as to communications. We had a child we were fighting for. But in the end, we got our desired outcome thanks to his arguments. If you are looking for an attorney to fight for you 100%, pick Mike! If you need regular updates and communications, he needs to work on that. But, we would still 10000% recommend him for your family court needs!

This man does not make time for those with financial hardships, even after receiving his retainer. He does not keep his clients upbreast on what and/or when he files documents, as well as what was received by the opposing party. He will make himself available for multiple courtrooms at the same time. Find someone else.
