About A. James Mullaney III

I was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. I graduated from Wolfson High School in 1985. Afterwards, I attended the University of Florida and received a Bachelor of Science degree in 1990. After attending graduate school at the University of Central Florida, I graduated from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University. In 1996, after law school, I returned to Jacksonville where I have been practicing law ever since. In 2000, I started my own law practice and have been a family law attorney ever since.

Unlike almost all other divorce lawyers in Jacksonville FL, I am also licensed to practice law in Georgia. My practice takes me to Duval, Clay, St. Johns, Nassau, Ware, Charlton, and Camden counties. I am also a Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Court Mediator.

I was looking for a family law attorney with reasonable pricing who was able to sympathize and work with my complicated situation.For something that seemed so complicated on my own , with his services it was quick and very straight forward. Mr. Mullaney was great , communication on point, and he helped me understanding the laws and what was to be expected with the paper work , classes and hearing. I would highly recommend his services to friends and family.

Mr. Mullaney was very helpful and professional during the time he was working on my case. He was available at any time that I needed or had a question, and provided lots of sound advice and support.

I thought my case would be a disaster. Mr. Mullaney explained my options to me. A divorce case is not cheap, but he told me that there were ways to save money. Based on his advice, my ex and I eventually came to an agreement. I hope I never have to, but I would use him again.

Attorney Mullaney is a great solo practitioner. I like the ability to deal with an attorney only. He has helped my family and I with two adoptions. Hopefully he can help us with more adoptions in the future. Attorney Mullaney's rates are very reasonable and his turn around time with responses are excellent.

Jim is a great family law attorney! I used his services for a step-parent adoption case here in Florida back in 2006. I thought for sure my case would take two years, but I got the judgment I wanted within 7 months. My most recent adoption case took about 12 months because it was an out-of-state case. Trying to track down the biological father and a couple of rescheduling dates on the judge's part stretched out the timing of the case. I got the judgment I wanted with the second case.

I was dissatisfied with a couple of things. Mr. Mullaney told me that my husband and I could make changes to the dissolution papers so we did, but he obviously did not read them before my court date, because the judge questioned why there were pencilled in words in various places, and he just looked at me like, "What?"
On my court date, he told me to meet him at the judge's chambers at 9:10AM. He did not show up until after 10:10AM. He told me not to talk to the judge, but she encouraged me to.
