About Alvord and Alvord

Alvord and Alvord has over 35 years of experience in its specialized area of railroad equipment financing, and our resulting expertise and reputation in this area now provides the foundation of our firm. We specifically represent creditors, debtors, lessors and lessees in perfecting security interests in railroad equipment with filings made to the Surface Transportation Board in Washington, DC. We are proud of the reputation we have achieved over these years and continue to offer our clients all the benefits of our experience.

Originally formed in 1932 by Elias C. Alvord, an administrative judge with the Federal Trade Commission, and Ellsworth C. Alvord, Special Assistant to Andrew W. Mellon, Secretary of the Treasury, the firm, in addition, continues to represent clients in estate planning and administration, general taxation, company start-ups, pension and profit sharing plans and asset protection. The firm also has expertise in Delaware special purpose entities and substantial consolidation bankruptcy issues.
