Born and raised in Hartford, CT, Tony attended Brown University in Providence, RI after graduating from Hartford Public High School in 1994. While at Brown, Tony was a Calvin Klein National Scholar and a campus leader; proudly serving a term as Co-Chairperson of the Minority Peer Counseling (MPC) Program.
After graduating from Brown in May of 1998, Tony moved to Washington, D.C., where he worked as a Litigation Clerk at Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner, L.L.P., before moving on to become an Intellectual Property Litigation Paralegal at Robins, Kaplan, Miller & Ciresi, L.L.P.
Tony spent 2½ years at Robins Kaplan before deciding to attend the University of Connecticut School of Law in Hartford, CT. While at UConn Law, Tony was again a campus leader and proudly served 2 terms as President of the UConn Law Chapter of the Black Law Students Association (BLSA) in addition to being inducted into the Phi Delta Phi Legal Fraternity.
Tony also received the George and Lorraine Schatzki Award for Outstanding Service to the School for being instrumental in bringing several large events to the school. After graduating from UConn Law, Tony moved to Texas, where he worked briefly with IE Discovery, Inc., before becoming a Legal Assistant at West Short & Associates, P.C., a civil litigation law firm in Georgetown, Texas. Tony then determined to take the Texas Bar Exam, which he passed in November 2007.
