Is there something I can do legally? Can I get an attorney after 45 days if the matter is still not resolved?

You definitely can and absolutely should get an attorney to protect your rights and recover the maximum compensation available in your particular case. Even after paying the attorney, you will still be financially ahead.

What should my course of action be if I got injured in a restaurant?

Answered by attorney Robert Andrew Michael Burns (Unclaimed Profile)
Personal Injury lawyer at Law Office of Robert Burns
I'd say that there is aggravated liability. If the table was designed that way I'd think it defective. The wear and use of the table indicate negligence. The attitude there was bad but not illegal. I recommend that you meet with a personal injury attorney for a free evaluation of your case. Likely you can handle it yourself and use Small Claims Court to get a decision if you don't settle. Your kid may need to bang (with protection) on the other glass tables to get them out of there.

Is the apartment management liable if they knew one of the tenants used oxygen and smoked and resulted to fire?

Theoretically, yes. Management knew of a fire hazard, failed to take steps to correct it and a fire resulted. But after many years of practice, I have learned that when an answer is preceded by the word "theoretically" then actually putting it into practice brings about unanticipated difficulties.
