Can I sue the drunk driver that caused me neck and back pain?

Answered by attorney Michael J. Leizerman
Personal Injury lawyer at The Law Firm for Truck Safety LLP
Since you were on the job, you should be able to make a workers' compensation claim. You can also bring a claim against the drunk driver or sue the drunk driver if you did not already settle the claim and sign a release. It is not clear from your description, but it sounds like you may have settled when you received a little money from the drunk driver's insurance company.

Cigarette lighter explode in my daughter face burns 15% of her body what can we do about this

Answered by attorney Lee P. Morgan
Personal Injury lawyer at Morgan Morgan Attorneys at Law, P.C.
There have been a number of lawsuits over the years involving injuries caused by disposable butane lighters exploding.  If the product was defective, you may very well have a claim for damages against the manufacturer.  If you retained the lighter and any fragments, it is very important that you keep it securely stored in a safe place until you have talked to an attorney.  It will definitely be necessary to identify the manufacturer, and it may be necessary to have tests done on the fragments.  Keep in mind that there are strict time limits for filing a lawsuit due to defective products.  Contact an experienced attorney right away. MORGAN & MORGAN ATTORNEYS AT LAW, P.C. IS LOCATED IN ATHENS, GEORGIA.  WE HAVE MORE THAN 30 YEARS EXPERIENCE HELPING PEOPLE WITH PERSONAL INJURIES, AND OTHER LEGAL PROBLEMS.   CALL (706)548-7070.

Can I sue him for something other than medical bills and my car like emotional distress?

Dick Johnson
Answered by attorney Dick Johnson (Unclaimed Profile)
Personal Injury lawyer at Johnson & Johnson Law Firm
Well, it sounds like you were injured. You don't have to sue, at least right away. The insurer for the drunk should be willing to try to settle with you. But, I would wait at least six months from the injury date, even though, you may be feeling fine fairly soon, just to make sure you are going to be okay.
