Leave a review about your experience with this lawyer.Rhona was fantastic working with a very evasive buyer of our property in Palm Desert. Communication was great and even lowered her fee when we got a windfall from the buyer !! Great job Rhona !!
Like a lighthouse when your coming in from rough seas a "Great" lawyer can you give you the confidence that you can make it safely to port. Rhona Kauffman is that kinda of lawyer. I hired here twice for two cases that were particularly troublesome for me. She returns calls in a timely fashion. Actually listen to my concerns and counseled me in a fashion that was not demeaning but clear and concise without sugar coating. Thank you Rhona for always being there !
I’ve used Ms. Kauffman several times. The first time was for legal advice for my aging mother who did not have a current trust in place. Thank goodness I was able to get the trust done in time, no legal issues when she passed. The second time was for a new business. Ms. Kauffman prepared the corporation for my partner and I. Her legal advice was very useful. When I was involved in a law suit, Ms. Kauffman gave me advice. She is very knowledgeable in many fields. I highly recommend Ms. Kauffman!
We found ourselves facing a difficult dissolution of a long term business partnership. We weren’t sure if we would be able to walk away with anything substantial. Rhona advocated for us throughout the entire laborious process and remained supportive, knowledgeable and encouraging. She navigated for us through some emotionally charged territory all the while being comforting and positive and genuinely caring of obtaining the best possible outcome for us. In the end we triumphed. So grateful.
Ms. Kauffman was easily the best experience I've had hiring an attorney. It was obvious from the beginning she is passionate about what she does. In my experience with other attorneys they will often hedge their advice and leave you uncertain about which way to proceed. With Ms. Kauffman the advice was certain and spot on in our case. Highly recommend!
I was the opposing party in a case where Ms. Kauffman represented the plaintiff. Based on documented court filings and communications I received directly: her ex parte application was filed after the 10:00 AM deadline required under California Rules of Court 3.1202. Her supporting declaration contained internally contradictory sworn statements — one section cited a communication breakdown with her client as grounds for withdrawal under CCP 284(2), while her own email sent the same week stated her client had texted confirmation and approval of the withdrawal, which would have permitted a simple CCP 284(1) consent requiring no hearing at all. A separate section of the same declaration stated the matter concluded in 2018, while another section acknowledged a pending hearing on my motion. The motion was served one day late based on the USPS postmark, which contradicts the date sworn in the proof of service. This matter involved an unlawful detainer action.
I hired attorney Rhona S. Kauffman to fight my HOA, but instead I was betrayed. She failed to disclose a major conflict of interest — she had previously worked for the very law firm representing my HOA. Any honest attorney would have told their client, but I was left in the dark. While I lived for years in toxic, rat-infested conditions caused by HOA neglect, she did nothing to protect me. Her actions consistently benefited the HOA and management company, not me. I lost my health, my home, and years of my life because I trusted her. Communication was poor, decisions were questionable, and my case was destroyed by a conflict of interest I never agreed to. In my experience, she did not act in her client’s best interest. I would strongly urge anyone considering hiring Rhona S. Kauffman to think twice — my experience was one of neglect, betrayal, and devastation.
Hired for a real estate matter. Took eight months to write a letter and make a phone call during which time communications were poor, confusing, and contradictory. On our last meeting she obtained an additional retainer, and I never heard from her again. Did not return phone calls and did not respond to emails. Very embarrassing to have to tell the other side my lawyer disappeared.
