We retained Pat DiCesare to represent our young adult son in his efforts to receive disability benefits. At an administrative hearing 2-1/2 years after his initial application, he was finally approved to receive benefits. The majority of the efforts leading up to this were mine and my son's. The only positive thing I can say is that the documentation, most of which we provided, was well-organized in preparation for the hearing. Unfortunately, Mr. DiCesare and his paralegal botched the case so badly that my son only received one month's worth of back benefits. They missed a filing deadline, provided no instruction as to the two types of disabiity benefits and the requirements for them, and failed to discuss Social Security's limitations on assets. When Social Security issued its letter regarding the (dearth of) back benefits, Mr. DiCesare complained that he was "not making any money on this case." I cannot recommend this firm for assistance with disability filings.
