Pro
Leading Divorce Attorney and Founder of Moshtael Family Law
I cannot thank Navid Moshtael enough for the exceptional performance and expertise he provided during an incredibly difficult and emotionally challenging case. From day one, he demonstrated deep knowledge of family law, a clear command of the legal process, and a calm, assertive presence that gave me confidence even in the most stressful moments. He was not only highly professional and meticulous in every detail of the case, but also genuinely invested in achieving the best possible outcome for me and my family. His communication was always clear, timely, and compassionate—making a complex and overwhelming process feel manageable He is the best of out ALL the family law lawyers I have seen. I recommend Navid Moshtael I’m incredibly grateful for everything he’s done for me. I would highly recommend Mr. Moshtael to anyone seeking a professional, astute and experienced family law attorney.
Moshtael Family Law won a Move-Away Order for me and my daughter. Something that 2 other law firms told me would not happen. I have been through 3 different law firms now since my initial filling for divorce, the first two were very good at what they did, but Navid and his Team were brilliant. The saying is absolutely true, You Get What You Pay For. It is very hard looking for the right firm to understand your situation and see the facts that you see, Navid did exactly that within the first hour of talking to him. I was absolutely impressed. The firm knows how to work as a Team as well, which if you have dealt with firms before, you know they are very busy, with a lot of complex cases. The firm works together to make sure all aspects are getting completed. I have been recommending this firm to everyone I know, even if they don't need an attorney.
Unethical practice. He is in France most of the time and handles his cases from abroad with a huge time difference. When he can't appear on a hearing while in France, he will abandon you and your case with an excuse. The most unethical and unknowledgeable attorney who I ever encountered.
How does it feel paying 30k and get abandoned right before your hearing? I regret that I did not pay attention to negative reviews and let the fake positive ones fool me. My case is worse than before on the top of losing my case, my money and my time. Navid Moshtael dumped my case on 3 different attorneys at his office, one worse than the other, they had no idea about the case and the only thing they did was wasting my money and destroying my position and my case. The last attorney on my case at his office was Lance Duran, he brought the most damage to my case and my financials. I don't think that it would be even ethical to accept a case and tell your client few days before the hearings that you can't represent her. They exhaust my retainer just for their internal communications and ask for more without doing anything that can improve my case.

They exhaust my retainer just for their internal communications and ask for more without doing anything that can improve my case. They are the one who bring the most damage to your case. Having no attorney is better than hiring them and paying them to take advantage of your situation.
My encounter with this attorney Navid was an absolute nightmare. They took my money and disappeared without a word. Communication with them was nearly impossible unless Navid needed funds for vacation. After draining me financially, him and his unethical law firm abruptly terminated our client relationship. Initially, I had high expectations, swayed by his glowing mysterious five-star reviews. Despite my case being in the past, his actions have left me emotionally shattered, financially ruined, and struggling as a single father. I sincerely hope no one else has to endure the ordeal he put me through. He shamelessly exploited me for money, neglected my case strategies, and inflicted immense suffering on my family. Most distressingly, his incompetence continues to endanger my daughter's safety on a daily basis. I was powerless to undo the havoc he wreaked on my case. He is a contemptible family attorney who displays utter disregard for his clients and their children.
After seeing the good reviews, it’s easy to fall into the trap of hiring them. Despite the fact that phone call records indicate the time the conversation lasted, Moshtael still makes frivolous overcharges for phone calls on their bill. After pointing out the overcharges, they don’t admit it until the phone bill is shown to them. This company has is not trustworthy. For other matters that we can’t show evidence (such as the time they say they take to review documents and phone conversations with other individuals), how can we trust them? A bad review is a true nightmarish-like experience from a person. It’s easy to look at all the glowing positive reviews and ignore the bad reviews, but please don’t make this mistake!
Moshtael drafted a document for me. Due to their negligence, they filed the document late and the court dismissed it as being tardy. The court stated that due to the document being late, they no longer had jurisdiction over the matter. Despite that, Moshtael still charged me for the "tasks" they claimed to do relating to the late document, totaling over $5,000. Why should the client be punished for the firm's mistake??? On top of the late document, Moshtael overcharged me for multiple tasks, of which I have documented proof of. For several phone calls, they charged me 3-4 times more than the amount of time the conversation actually lasted. They didn't respond to me for a long time. It wasn't until I showed them my phone bills that they finally credited me for the overcharged calls. It was the worst mistake in my life to hire them. Please think long and hard before doing business with this company because they will nickel and dime and strip you out of money in a blink of an eye!!!
Navid Moshtael brings couple of his assistants with him to the court to double bill you. He does not know the case and when the judge tells him to ask his questions, he would ask for break because he has to ask his assistants for questions and check his emails. He makes you not make an agreement to bill you more and at the end, you lose it all.
Martindale-Hubbell® Client Review Ratings™ display reviews submitted by individuals who have either hired or consulted the lawyers or law firms.
The Client Review Rating score is determined through the aggregation of validated responses. People who submit reviews are either individuals who consulted with the lawyer/law firm or who hired the lawyer/law firm and want to share their experience of that lawyer or law firm with other potential clients. Reviewers can be anyone who consults or hires a lawyer including in-house counsel, corporate executives, small business owners, and private individuals.
Martindale-Hubbell validates that a reviewer is a person with a valid email address. As part of the review process, respondents must affirm that they have had an initial consultation, are currently a client or have been a client of the lawyer or law firm identified, although Martindale-Hubbell cannot confirm the lawyer/client relationship as it is often confidential. The content of the responses is entirely from reviewers.
Prior results do not guarantee a similar outcome and Martindale-Hubbell accepts no responsibility for the content or accuracy of any review. For more information on Martindale-Hubbell Client Review Ratings, please visit our Client Review Page
Martindale Peer Reviews
Martindale-Hubbell® Peer Review Ratings™ are the gold standard in attorney ratings, and have been for more than a century. These ratings indicate attorneys who are widely respected by their peers for their ethical standards and legal expertise in a specific area of practice.
The Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings process is the gold standard due to its objectivity and comprehensiveness. Lawyers solicited for peer reviews include both those selected by the attorney being reviewed and lawyers independently selected by Martindale-Hubbell. All reviewers are verified as attorneys through Martindale-Hubbell’s extensive attorney database. Only attorneys practicing at least three years and receiving a sufficient number of reviews from non-affiliated attorneys are eligible to receive a Rating.
What are the different Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings?*
• AV Preeminent®: The highest peer rating standard. This rating signifies that a large number of the lawyer’s peers rank him or her at the highest level of professional excellence for their legal knowledge, communication skills and ethical standards.
• Distinguished: An excellent rating for a lawyer with some experience. This rating indicates the attorney is widely respected by their peers for high professional achievement and ethical standards.
• Notable: This rating indicates that the lawyer has been recognized by a large number of their peers for strong ethical standards.
Lawyers who have received peer reviews after 2009 will display more detailed information, including practice areas, summary ratings, detailed numeric ratings and written feedback (if available). Details for individual reviews received before 2009 are not displayed.
Attorneys that receive reviews from their peers, but not a sufficient number to establish a Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Rating, will have those reviews display on our websites.
Ratings and reviews are feedback from people who have either consulted an attorney about an issue (but may not have hired the attorney) or people who hired an attorney as a current or former client and provided their feedback to our sister site, Avvo.com.
