Is it longer to get a green card without a lawyer?

If you know what you are doing, not necessarily. I have seen people in my office that they attempted to file on their own but made mistakes and eventually came to me for help. If you can afford it, it is the best to hire an attorney.

There's not much you can do to stop her from returning the U.S. if she has a valid green card. However, my advice to you is to find an experienced family law attorney and file for divorce. Since she has a conditional green card, she may not be able to get the condition removed at the end of the 2 years if you are either in the process of getting a divorce or actually divorced.

Your question requires an attorney consultation. It is not a simple question that can be answered on this type of forum. There are many factors that would need to be considered and evaluated. The short answer is that the shoplifting charge is a crime involving moral turpitude, which may make you inadmissible. However, if this is your only charge, waivers may be available to you.
