How long will it take to bring my husband from India, if I have US citizenship?

You are going to have to file a family based visa petition for your husband with all the supporting documents. Once the visa petition is approved, it is sent from the immigration to the National Visa Center. The National Visa Center then will process the case at the consulate in your husband's country. The process may be faster in some places than others depending on the many or few cases that specific consulate handles and the specific requirements as well as how fast they will give him an appointment of the interview. Usually it would not taken longer than a year, even six months. However, times are relative and may vary greatly from one case to the next. It also depends on how fast you reply to the request for evidence and how fast you do your part of the process. As soon as the consular process commences, you are notified every time you are required to do something, for example, make payments or send documentation. It is not necessary for you to go live with him over there. It would definitely help if you are present at the time of his interview with the consulate, but not required either. The approval will depend more on the evidence provided in paper to the consulate. A careful and substantial presentation of evidence to prove the validity of your marriage is essential.

If I can apply for the process, will I get the green card first or the citizenship right away?

Your stepmother could have sponsored you. If she did, then you do not need to wait for your father's green card.

If your child is 21 years old they can petition for you. You will need an attorney, so speak to one directly.
