What form of affidavit do I need if my I-130 has been approved?

Answered by attorney David H Nachman
Immigration lawyer at NPZ Law Group
You will first have to file a Petition for an Immigrant family member on Form I-130. You should let the National Visa Center know that you want to process the green card at the U.S. Consulate abroad. Please note that the process for sponsoring a member of the family has many nuances and we encourage you to consider hiring a qualified immigration lawyer or attorney with regard to this matter. One particular nuance has to do with the planning or filing of the Affidavit of Support Form and package.

Is it legal for my sponsor/petitioner to charge me rent or evict me to be a burden to the government.

Answered by attorney Dolly M. Fairclough (Unclaimed Profile)
Immigration lawyer at Law Offices of D.M. Fairclough
Tricky situation.  She is responsible for you as your sponsor, but your turning against her may create problems for yourself with Immigration and maintaining your status. Questions such as what is your current status, and the child?  Is your father involved in the situation?  If she opts to withdraw her sponsorship, you could be facing removal.
