About Daniel A. Harris

Daniel Harris is an experienced and talented defense attorney who is widely recognized by his peers and by local judges for his skill in the courtroom and in trial, his knowledge of the law, his ability to interact with clients and others in the court system, and his integrity. Attorney Harris is a North Carolina State Bar Board Certified Specialist in both State and Federal Law. Only 3.9% of North Carolina attorneys gain this certification in their area of concentration.

Attorney Harris is in the very select company of still practicing attorneys to have won a Federal Criminal Jury Trial in the Middle District of North Carolina, having his client found not guilty of an indictment for Impersonating a Federal Officer. Attorney Harris has also successfully argued multiple suppression motions in Federal Court, obtained probationary sentences, and helped clients receive substantial downward variances.

Attorney Harris is certified by the North Carolina Bar as a Board-Certified Specialist in State and Federal Criminal Law. This process of Specialization (in two areas) requires extensive qualification checks, jury trial experience, recommendations by other defense lawyers, judges, and prosecutors and then to pass multiple days of testing in Raleigh. Moreover, attorney Harris has been selected to Legal Elite nine times, and Super Lawyers seven times.

Attorney Harris has won numerous other jury trials, to include having a client found Not Guilty of three separate Class C trafficking charges, each charge carrying a mandatory minimum of 18.75 years. Attorney Harris has negotiated dismissals and reductions of First Degree Murder Charges, First Degree Sex Offense Charges, Habitual Felon indictments, Embezzlement, First Degree Kidnapping, Arson, and many more. In District Court Attorney Harris has won hundreds of cases and received numerous Not Guilty verdicts on cases including but not limited to DWIs, Assault on Female, Domestic Violence Protective Order Violations, Communicating Threats, Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Larceny, and much more. Attorney Harris is also widely respected by judges and local attorneys alike for his intimate knowledge of the North Carolina Expunction laws and processes.

While every case is different and we cannot make any promises about the outcome of your particular case, know you are in experienced and carrying hands if you hire Attorney Harris.

Hired Attorney

Daniel Harris was persistent in handling my case with the DA. He stayed in touch with me and was quick to relay information to me. We hit a few snags, but Daniel would immediately call and arrange information meetings. He never delayed an appearance. He handled everything quickly and efficiently, without any legal red tape or time wasting tactics. I don't plan to ever need the services of a criminal defense attorney again, But if I do, it will be Daniel Harris.
