Do I need to physically be in court on my court date in another state or can an attorney represent me?

Answered by attorney Philip Daniel Hache
DUI/DWI lawyer at Law Offices of Phil Hache
You can handle it yourself if you want to, but I highly advise against that. The chances of getting a favorable outcome increase a LOT with a good DUI defense Attorney, likely saving you from consequences and saving you money and time overall (ie. from court fees, increased insurance premiums, etc.).

How long can one county hold someone on another county's no felony warrant?

Usually until the other county sends someone to pick up the inmate or until a writ of habeas corpus is filed and a judge grants the writ. You may want to contact an experienced criminal defense attorney for a face-to-face consultation and give him/her all of the facts surrounding the inmates situation. He/she would then be in a better position to analyze their case, and advise you of their options.

Is it true that if a cop does not show up to a traffic hearing, then you win the case?

Normally the traffic court judges will dismiss the cases when the cop doesn't show. But there is no hard and fast rule. Maybe that commissioner doesn't believe in doing that.
