Am I eligible for my husband's pension?

Richard B. Jacobson
Answered by attorney Richard B. Jacobson (Unclaimed Profile)
Divorce lawyer at Richard B. Jacobson Associates, LLC
You might be. It will depend on the underlying rules of the pension, and whether he arranged for the pension to be paid to you after his death. Contact the trustees of the pension fund, or the human resources office of his employer to get started.

How do we divide assets if we were never married?

Eric James Smith
Answered by attorney Eric James Smith (Unclaimed Profile)
Divorce lawyer at Law Office of Eric J. Smith
The home and other significant assets can be divided based on a partnership theory, where each gets out a percentage based on their contribution. The good news is since there is no marriage, a judge and court may not be necessary for the division if you can agree. If you cannot, the house can be divided in what is called a suit to try title.

How can I get my ex to follow court order and pay me?

Answered by attorney John F. Brennan (Unclaimed Profile)
Divorce lawyer at Musilli Brennan Associates, PLLC
If it is worth the fees, engage an attorney to assist in either bringing a motion for contempt for failing to follow the order, or to take other collection action to recover your judgment from your ex.
