If you paid that much toward the principal and then married yes you should be able to claim that the house is "marital property" and the equity be split.

I think you need to talk to a local family law attorney. There are too many questions and too many things that will have to be discussed. Generally, however, you are entitled to ? of the community property (which may very likely include the business), probably child support and perhaps spousal support until you get back on your feet.

Under Michigan and most state laws .. child custody is based upon what is in the best interests of the children.. not the parents. and children are deemed to have the right to both parents love and affection..so shared custody or at least regular visitation by the non custodial parent are encouraged. Finally very young children are not usually separated from the mothers absent special circumstances so .... give that.. he will not be able to keep his daughter for a whole year.. even if he gets primary physical custody.. the mother will get visitation.
