How do I get him to pay half of certain credit card debts as per the divorce judgment?

Answered by attorney Anne Barbara Howard (Unclaimed Profile)
Divorce lawyer at Anne B. Howard, A Professional Law Corporation
If there is an order for him to pay half and he hasn't file a motion for enforcement to quantify the amount and get a judgment just on the amount. Then enforce the judgment.

Will a divorce court recognize a prenuptial agreement from another state?

default-avatar
Answered by attorney Ronald L Bornstein (Unclaimed Profile)
Divorce lawyer at Ronald Bornstein, Attorney at Law
If the prenuptial agreement was executed with the proper formalities required by the state in which it was drafted, then generally yes, it would be recognized. Most prenuptial agreements contain a provision setting forth the state whose laws will govern the interpretation of the agreement, which will control the situation.

Can i get my marriage annulled?

default-avatar
Answered by attorney Charles D. Scott (Unclaimed Profile)
Divorce lawyer at The Law Offices of Charles D. Scott PLLC
In Florida, the way to terminate a marriage is to file a petition for dissolution of marriage in the Circuit Court of the county in which you and your husband last resided as husband and wife. Annulment is a religious procedure done by the Catholic Church and will erase your marriage in the eyes of the church as though it never happened. Most annulments go tot he pope for approval and are time consuming and require lots of paperwork. Unfortunately annulments will not legally end the marriage, and you must go through the legal process of divorce in accordance with Florida rules of Family Law and Florida Statute section 61.  If you cannot afford a lawyer, there are do-it-yourself forms available at most court houses.
