How much financial share I get after divorce?

Stephen Marc Drucker
Answered by attorney Stephen Marc Drucker (Unclaimed Profile)
Divorce lawyer at Legal Action Workshop Professional Corporation
There is no easy answer to this question.  I would strongly urge that you speak with an experienced divorce lawyer so you understand your legal rights. Here are some considerations: is your spouse in his own business or does he work for a company? does your spouse have a retirement fund? is there equity in your house? if you will continue to live in the home, who would pay the mortgage? do you have debt that was acquired during the marriage? is your spouse cooperative and willing to agree? Your issues would be spousal support, child support, division of retirement fund, division of other assets such as the house as well as division of debts and there may be other issues as well.

No. You are not divorced until the judge signs and files the judgment of divorce, that terminates your marital status.
