You do not have to move out of your matrimonial home without s divorce been filed and a subsequent court order (temporary or otherwise) asking you to leave. The fact that the house is in his name alone by itself does not qualify the house as his separate property. It is always a good idea to consult with an attorney for a detailed discussion of your rights.

It's not necessarily for life. However, it is probably for more than 1/2 the length of the marriage. Alimony ends on death of either spouse, remarriage of the supported spouse, possibly on cohabitation and the discretion of the court. There are many more factors that go into consideration for the amount and duration of alimony in a marriage over 10 years. Best to consult an attorney to discuss your specific facts.
