Most likely they have not reported you to the police and dropping you as a patient will be the extent of your problem. If the police do pay you a visit that would be the time to look into hiring an attorney. Just for your information a FL statewide database was set up for the painkillers and other addictive medication.

Only an attorney who has reviewed all of the evidence that the state intends to use against your friend can have an opinion about what might happen. Why are you asking? So that you can learn something and then tell it to the friend? The friend needs the advice, not you, and it is very fact specific and personal to him, not you. What are the chances that you will not accurately relay whatever you learn? Things get messed up all the time and misunderstood. If your friend has a history of this particular crime, he might go to prison. That is about all I can say.

What are you looking for? There are no motions to force the DA to send the case to the grand jury. You need to be ready when and IF the grand jury returns an indictment.
