How can someone be charged based solely on hearsay?

Answered by attorney Steven Jed Alpers (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at Steven J. Alpers, A Professional Corporation
Hearsay is a type of evidence. It may be admissible or inadmissible, that will be an issue for the judge to decide in court. It is certainly enough evidence for a DA to file a complaint and it can be enough to convict you.

What rights do I have when my son is being falsely accused for rape?

Answered by attorney John F Brennan (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at Musilli Brennan Associates, PLLC
Get your son an attorney NOW, and tell him to speak with no one about this subject unless and until has has counsel. This is hugely serious and will, if not resolved properly, have a major impact on the rest of his life.

Will I get picked up for my warrants in my rehab center?

Answered by attorney Paul J. Wallin
Criminal Law lawyer at Wallin & Klarich, A Law Corporation
If you have a warrant for your arrest you could be arrested at the rehab center if law enforcement knows that is where you are going. You are better off retaining a lawyer to help you. You cannot be represented on the new case by the PD, until you are arrested and appear in court.
