If my wife had a warrant for stealing from a store, how long can she be held in jail?

Michael Lawrence Chastaine
Answered by attorney Michael Lawrence Chastaine (Unclaimed Profile)

That depends on a lot of factors. It they put a parole hold on her, she may be in until that parole violation is over. Otherwise, she may be able to bail out. I need more information to give a better answer.

Can I drop the charges or will the State prosecute anyway?

Jared Clayton Austin
Answered by attorney Jared Clayton Austin (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at Austin Legal Services, PLC
It is solely the prosecutor's decision on whether or not to pursue charges. You can offer input and ask that it be dismissed, but at the end of the day the decision will be their's.

What can we legally do for an underage drinking charge? How?

I would certainly suggest that you contact my offices or another attorney as quickly as possible so that there is adequate preparation time. I do not quite understand what you are trying to represent if there are no charges filed I do not understand why there would be in court date set. In any case she needs defense and every effort should be made to try to keep this off of her record.
