Can I still have communication with a person if there is a no-negative contact order?

Mark A. Broughton
Answered by attorney Mark A. Broughton (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at Mark A. Broughton, PC
Yes, as long as there are no "negative" interactions. "Negative" in his context is a very broad term and will be interpreted as to what the person you are communicating with thinks it is. So, you should be very cautious if you chose to communicate with him/her at all. If the person you are communicating with thinks there is something "negative" you could be in violation of the court order. That person has a lot of leverage over you if you decide to communicate at all so be very careful.

Procedures for an amendment of bond differ from court to court. You should consult with an attorney who is familiar with the assigned judge.
