Can a landord be sued for the criminal activity of one of their tenants?

Answered by attorney Ernest Lee
Criminal Law lawyer at Lee Law Group DUI Criminal Attorneys
Friend In the case you give the landlord may be held criminally liable but it is a stretch. In most instances he would be civilly liable only, and this is not certain.

If my property was taken for safekeeping, not evidence, can it be used as evidence?

Answered by attorney John Wood Bussman (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at The Law Offices of John W. Bussman
Need a lot more info to answer that. Typically, police don't just take your property for "safe keeping". They might have told you that, but cops aren't interested in protecting your property. If they took something from you and that property contained contraband or could be used to tie you to a crime, then yes, it will be used as evidence.

In criminal court, what does the law say about a spouse testifying for or against their spouse?

Answered by attorney Patrick Owen Earl
Criminal Law lawyer at Patrick O. Earl
In criminal court a spouse can be subpoena'ed to court and asked to testify against his/her spouse. Sounds like you need an experienced criminal defense attorney.
