You do not hire an appointed counsel. If you cannot afford at attorney, the judge will appoint someone, not the someone you want, but someone. The judge will not appoint the someone until after you pay a $50 application fee. You will not see the judge until you are scheduled for arraignment. Keep the clerk's office apprised of your home address.

The easy answer is no. However, you writing there was no probable cause is not the same thing as a judge at a motion to suppress hearing determining there was no probable cause.

It will depend, among other things, on the drug, the amount involved and whether or not the person has any strikes against him. At the very least, he is looking at a minimum of 1 to 3 years.
