About Cumming & Associates

Representing clients locally, statewide and nationally since 2008.

Cumming & Associates opened its doors in December 2008 in a small leased office on the third floor of an 11-story office building located in Costa Mesa. The firm started with a couple of computers, a printer, some office equipment, and a good website. We marketed the firm as a boutique business law firm because that is who we are and what we do. We believe it is important to focus on a specific practice area and to do it well. The firm also embraces five principles that serve as the foundation of how we practice law.

In the early days, the five principles served the firm and its clients well because the firm quickly grew out of the small leased office space and leased a second office on the same floor.

Within a couple of years, the firm needed more space and moved down the street to the top-floor suite of a six-story building with multiple offices to accommodate the firm’s attorneys, paralegals, and staff members.

The firm has continued to grow through the years in both size and practice areas. However, the firm is not, and has never sought to be, a high-volume practice. We carefully limit our workload to ensure every client receives the full attention the client deserves. We consider this approach essential to maintain quality service for all our clients. It is our commitment both personally and professionally to handle cases the right way and to treat our clients the right way.

The year 2018 represents the firm’s 10th year anniversary. We are thankful for the people who work at Cumming & Associates and for the clients we serve.

Our Firm’s Guiding Principles

At Cumming & Associates, we follow five principles that guide how we practice law and serve our clients. Our five principles are the following:

1. Practice Law Well

If we are going to do a job, it has to be done well every time.

2. Exceed Clients’ Expectations

It is important we try to meet or exceed clients’ expectations in everything we do.

3. Live a Life of Integrity

The lawyer-client relationship has to be based on trust. To develop and preserve that trust, we have to live a life of integrity, both professionally and personally, in all that we do.

4. The Practice of Law is a Team Effort

The practice of law is a team effort. Everyone at the firm is important and everyone has to do their jobs well for everyone to succeed.

5. Keep Life In Perspective

The practice of law is a wonderful profession that gives us the ability to serve the needs of others. Yet, more important things should not be sacrificed for the sake of success in the practice of law.

Our Commitment To The Client

Our commitment to you is to serve your needs well and to keep the five principles at the forefront of what we do as we partner with each client for successful results.
