After earning an honors degree in finance from the University of Memphis, he graduated from the University of Memphis Law School in 1991. Bill began his career performing federal criminal defense work before switching his legal focus to civil matters. In 1996, he helped to establish the firm of Hall & Hagan, which later developed into Hagan & Patterson.
