Can my bankruptcy affect my employment?

default-avatar
Answered by attorney Thomas Anthony Vogele (Unclaimed Profile)
Bankruptcy lawyer at Thomas Vogele & Associates, APC
Unfortunately, many companies make hiring decisions based on information contained in credit reports. Your bankruptcy would be shown on your credit report and may very well have caused prospective employers to shy away from offering you employment. You may wish to address the issue of your bankruptcy upfront and explain it rather than having an employer discover it during an employment check. That way you get to frame the issue and possibly assuage any worries a prospective employer might have. Good luck in your job search.

Is a pre bankruptcy civil judgment entered befoire the filing of a Chapter 13 bankruptcy considered a secured debt?

default-avatar
Answered by attorney William Monroe Rubendall (Unclaimed Profile)
Bankruptcy lawyer at William Rubendall Attorney at Law
The debt is unsecured because an abstract of judgment was not filed before the bankruptcy. It is extremely unlikely that relief from stay will be granted. The debt will be handled as a claim, and a proof of claim should be filed.

Yes they can be submitted as evidence of a legally binding contract.. Even if the text messages did not form a legally binding contract they backs up and show a verbal agreement.
