If my balance is zero with a chapter 13 bankruptcy, do I still have to continue payments for the full 5 years?

As a general rule, if all of the allowed claims in your case are paid in full, then you should not have to make any further payments to the trustee and you should receive your discharge. You should contact the trustee's office or your attorney for details.

You have committed a fraud and will be very lucky if you are not prosecuted. It is a relatively new crime here in FL entitled defrauding a financial institution. You will probably need an aggressive criminal defense attorney but you may not even be prosecuted.

How to find out if a case number is real?

Talk to your bankruptcy attorney. If you did not have one then you should talk to an attorney in the state where you live. Your state law will dictate if NSF checks have a criminal component.
