Can I file for bankruptcy on debt that I owe to pornographic websites?

Answered by attorney Michael Burton McFarland (Unclaimed Profile)
Bankruptcy lawyer at Michael B. McFarland, PA
When you file for bankruptcy, you have to include all your debts, which can include debts of this type. However, you probably don't owe money directly to the websites, but rather to a credit card or cards that were used to pay the bills. If you owe the websites directly, and don't have other debts, you might wait until they try to collect before filing. In the future, just use the free sites.

Would a bankruptcy clear out the student loan?

default-avatar
Answered by attorney William Monroe Rubendall (Unclaimed Profile)
Bankruptcy lawyer at William Rubendall Attorney at Law
For the most part student loans are nondischargeable. There is an exception for undue hardship, however it requires a lawsuit in the bankruptcy case called an "adversary proceeding." Consult an attorney as to the specific facts in your case as to whether an adversary proceeding would possible be successful.
